Today we focused on Axa, a major shareholder of the corrupt pharma company AstraZeneca. AstraZeneca not only funds barbaric experiments inside HLS, but also it is being investigated for using bribes to boost sales in Europe, Asia, the Middle East and elsewhere.

We first visited Axa Investment Managers (7 Newgate Street, London, EC1A 7NX, Tel: 020 7003 1000) and then Axa HQ (5 Old Broad Street, London, EC2N 1AD, Tel: 020 7920 5900). We did loud protests, shaming Axa for investing in a pharma company that tests their drugs at HLS.

HLS is the only animal testing lab to have had their licence revoked for animal cruelty. We drew attention to the fact that they invest in a pharma company that kills nearly 200,000 animals every year in barbaric and useless experiments, enabling them to get their drugs onto the market. We reminded them that they are investing in a pharma company that tests their drugs on poor, illiterate individuals in India, using them as guinea pigs, without their consent or knowledge.

Shame on you Axa. You decided to stop investing in the production of cluster bombs and anti-personnel landmines six years ago. Now it’s time to stop investing in animal torture at HLS. Deal with HLS, deal with SHAC!
